Keeping on top of minor internal and external improvement works is beneficial for a number of reasons. It improves the living environment for tenants and neighbours; It can often prevent future damage to a property; and it creates an increased likelihood that tenants will respect the condition of the property more so.

Our highly capable decorating team improve and protect interior walls, doors, window and door frames, general woodwork, and communal areas from wear and tear and in doing so revive their appearance.

This important work is certainly not an afterthought at Chigwell Construction, but is considered to be as important as any, albeit perhaps it may not demand the same urgency of response as an electricity outage or a boiler failure, but these works contribute significantly to maintaining the Decent Homes Standard.

We also revive exteriors to be fresh and clean for residents and neighbours to enjoy and be proud of and prevent further degradation. As an example, cyclical improvement work to facias, soffits, guttering and downpipes can often contribute significantly towards preventing internal damp and mould which without immediate remedial action can pose a danger to health. In this example circumstance, we can safely say that prevention is most certainly better than cure.

This preventative approach to improvements can also have knock-on benefits. Repairing and painting wooden window frames can significantly extend the life of an otherwise serviceable property asset, reducing the need for full replacement for a number of years more thereby creating efficiencies that allow tight budgets to stretch as far as possible and be focussed where they’re needed the most.
