Chigwell Window Centre, part of the Chigwell Group, has stepped in to ensure that Havering’s much-loved St George’s Day Parade will go ahead this year after a £9,000 funding shortfall threatened the event.
After hearing that the annual celebration could be cancelled, Dean from Chigwell Window Centre pledged the full £9,000 required to keep the parade alive. The event is an important tradition in the Havering area, bringing together families, schools and residents to celebrate St George’s Day and local community spirit.
Dean explained why supporting the event was so important:
“When we heard the St George’s Day parade could be cancelled, we wanted to step in and help. As a local business, we believe in supporting the community and giving something back. It’s a fantastic event where children and families come together, and it’s important that traditions like this continue each year.”
The generous contribution has been widely welcomed by residents and local leaders, who say the parade plays a key role in bringing the community together and celebrating English heritage.
Chigwell Window Centre, which operates a showroom in Romford, has a long-standing reputation for supporting local initiatives and community events across Havering and the surrounding areas.
By stepping forward to cover the full cost, the company has helped ensure that this year’s Havering St George’s Day celebrations will continue as planned, allowing families and residents to once again enjoy one of the borough’s most valued community events.
